This one was painted for "Bloom" Coffeeshop, and it was the risk of the two. Green is difficult: it turns muddy if you hesitate, and it doesn't forgive being overworked. I kept going anyway, because I wanted the light in this painting to arrive the way it does through leaves: filtered, a little cool, not yet warm. There's a soft pink opening near the centre that I didn't plan. It came late, and I left it. I hope the green does what I wanted it to - spring, an open window, the feeling that something is about to begin.
