This one came easily, and I think that's because the first painting ("I left the window open") had already done the hard part. Where the green was careful, this was almost careless! Short strokes, quick hands, rose over ochre over warm brown, layer over layer until the whole surface held light instead of pointing at it. .
I think it's about what happens after you let something in. Not the moment of opening, but the hours afterwards, when the light has spread into every corner and you've stopped bracing. Just warmth that arrived and stayed.
The two titles are one sentence, broken across two canvases. Read them in order and the room fills up. ☼
